Are you pounding your fists at your internet marketing strategies every time you see your web stats? “What are all these people going on my site if they are not interested?” you wonder as you watch the march of ants move on and off your web page. No opt ins, no sales. What’s going on here? Well, before you blame the economy, let’s have a look at your internet marketing strategy and see if you can turn some of these numbers on your stats into numbers in your bank account.

First, any internet marketing strategy has to have a strong conversion rate or you are going to end up searching the classified ads on Sunday and interview hopping on your weekdays. This means that you had better have a look at the basic principles of conversion: Relevancy, credibility and Urgency.

Relevancy

Beginning with relevancy, is your internet marketing strategy using a SPECIFIC topic from start to finish? If not, you can be sure that the moment the content theme shifts they are going to hit the back button. Relevance is about having internet marketing strategy with a smooth movement down the ladder of abstraction so that you will not lose your visitor before they decide to but from you.

Credibility

The second thing which you have to have in your internet marketing strategy is credibility. The internet is JAMMED with competition these days and you just cannot afford to leave credibility out anymore. You will either have it or you will watch your business dry up from a desktop in a cubicle somewhere. This means contact information for your company, pictures or videos of you or a representative of the company and links to businesses and organizations you are associated with.

Urgency

Finally, your internet marketing strategy must have a strong urgency factor worked into it. If you do not have this you are going to be the one giving out the free samples at the food court while everyone eats lunch somewhere else. It is not enough to give people a reason to buy. You must also give them a reason to by right now. If not, have a way to get their contact right now so that you can use your breadcrumb strategy to convert them into buyers.

So as you can see, you have some research, analysis and tweaking to do on your internet marketing strategy. You can be sure however that as you take the time for this that you will see a lot more numbers in your bank statement instead of just on your analytics page.
