The Mind Body Myth
Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body ?
Hmmm, you know often a question which appears to have no answer is really not worth asking.
In relation to this one, we have to assume that the mind and the body are somehow separate. Come on, they are connected by your spinal column.
Yet, we are told that you can change your thinking and change your life. What about the rest of the body?
You know, your emotions are a physical phenomenon. Not only that, they often drive your actions more than your thoughts do. Now you can think about something all day long and still do nothing about it
It is the thoughts which you become emotionally involved in which will have the most profound effect on your actions. That said, if you are ready to turn your life around than you need to get your body involved somehow.
Your nervous system has a wonderful capability to send a signal to your brain according to its current vibration. That said, begin asking yourself this: What kinds of actions will send positive signals to my brain? You can begin with your posture, the tone and volume of your voice, The position of your head.
If your goal is to be more confident and assertive, begin to mimic the actions of such a person. The longer you merely think about something without taking action, the more ‘what ifs’ have the chance to enter your mind. Action however, builds courage and interrupts the mind before it can defeat you.
