, I am so excited to be able to finally share this with you. For the past two years we have watched our nation plunge into a recession. So where is this blessed ‘Secret?’ Well, it already did its job by making a few wealthy. Now we are looking for the next fix while all of the teachers in the movie are selling “the secret behind the secret.” Give me a break.

So what is the secret ?

Well, Napoleon Hill wrote about it in ‘Think and Grow Rich’. The book which is believed to have made more millionaires than any other in history.  He wrote it after spending nearly 50 years studying  people like Henry Ford, JD Rockefeller and Thomas Edison. Not reading about them. He actually knew these people and many more like them.  Up close and personal. Well even he did not come right out and say what the secret actually was.  This is because the secret cannot be taught. That is what makes it a secret.

You see, I too have had the chance to meet one on one with successful business owners, millionaires, world class athletes and fortune 500 executives. And guess what? I learned the secret the same way Napoleon Hill did. By working with real people who had used it to achieve their success. I assure you that it is just as real as the words on this page. Can I tell you what it is? No. No one can, that is what makes it a secret. What I can teach you is the process by which you may discover it for yourself.

But first things first. Let’s defuse some of the Myths in the movie “the secret.” Number one:

Thoughts do not become things.  Thoughts are passive. How many people do you know who have been “thinking about” doing something for years and have done nothing?  It’s called procrastination. It is not our thoughts which attract results into our  life. It is our actions. Now I can tell you this much: Attraction is a very real principle, but it is not a law.  Laws deal in absolutes and attraction  can be very subjective.

These teachers seem to have attraction confused with  magnetism. However, even the law of magnetism does not say that like attracts like. It states that opposites attract. Dude, this is fourth grade physics.

The idea that we can attract what we  want by thinking about it is not based on sound principles.   And Even if we could,  like does not attract like. It is a know scientific fact.

Are you beginning to see how these teachers have bent the truth ? But that ‘s not all. The other thing which they teach is that  our feelings are what tell us we are on track.  While this does foreshadow a basic concept of the secret it does not leave the right impression.  Our feelings are not nearly as important as the thoughts or symbols or beliefs associated with them.

It is possible to feel good when you are doing something which is harmful to you. Taking drugs feels good,  so does eating a nice greasy cheeseburger and washing it down with a thousand calorie milkshake.

Not only that, it is possible to develop negative feelings about things which are good for us. This is why people sabotage their own success.

Learning the secret is going to take time and practice. But believe me, you WILL know when you discover it for sure.
