The truth is that you cannot really persuade another person using these techniques or any other, unless turn your attention towards the objective: to go for a win win.
This is because most persuasion techniques designed to focus on either your approach or the other person’s reaction. This can quickly get you distracted from the objective and can turn persuasion into a battle of wills. Instead, ask yourself if you can accomplish what you want and help the other person get what they want. If this is not possible, then it is best to walk away. No NLP Training, no soft selling, spinning or manipulations which may persuade the other but ruin the relationship in the process.
The truth is that persuasion is either a synergistic process or it is not persuasion at all. After all, you may be able to use your NLP Training or imbedded commands or just your personality to persuade someone. However, there is one element that all persuasions must have or else they mean nothing: That one thing is an ongoing commitment to the solution which you end up reaching. If you find that you are able to persuade someone only to find them backing out later, then you did not really persuade them in the first place.
People commit to things which they see value in and when it comes to that people attach value to the things which they assist in creating and which are a part of. Asking yourself if there is a way that you can both win is the only assurance that persuasion will be genuine and backed by commitment. This approach will accomplish far more than any NLP Training technique or persuasion skill.
