Internet Marketing Tools-The One Thing That Changes Everything

6 October 2009

Do you know what the biggest mistake is that people make in developing the internet marketing tools to build their business? If you have been working as an internet marketer for any amount of time you are surely aware of a lot of the mistakes that can be made. But what is the difference for those who are happily working from home and enjoying passive income while still having the time to build their dreams? It begins with learning the concept which the majority of online businesses never incorporate into their internet marketing tools.

This concept is that of consumption. Let me ask you this: If I own a candy store and I sell six pounds of candy to someone who never even eats it, how likely are they to return to my store? Well, not only are they are not going to return, but they are likely to have an opinion about the money that they have already spent. Either way, because they never used what they bought I am going to have to continue to look for new customers.

So the story goes when your internet marketing tools do not include the principle of consumption as a strategy. The internet marketplace is so competitive now that mediocrity will no longer suffice when it comes to building a thriving business. Of course, there are other vital dimensions of marketing which you must have in place in order to succeed. However, you can also have the greatest internet marketing plan in the world and if you do not develop a consumption strategy you are not going to survive.

This is of particular importance in regards to information marketing, where the return rates can end up as high as forty percent for some products. Again, the reason for this is lack of customer consumption. Either the person never used the product or they used it and did not get any benefit. Either way, you are left scrounging for new business in an endless cycle. However, once you develop the internet marketing tools which will encourage your customers to use what they buy from you then you inspire them to remain loyal.

So how can you begin to develop a consumption strategy and incorporate it into your current internet marketing tools? To being with, there are three areas which encourage consumption: Accountability, feedback, and rewards. The first is made possible through some kind of community or follow up, or even a forum. People who are accountable are more active in using what they learn. The second is asking your customers for feedback on the product, which of course no one is going to give out of the kindness of their heart. That is where the reward comes in.

Are you creative enough to incorporate these into your internet marketing tools? If so, you can bet that you are going to increase your chances of building a business that will change your life for the rest of your life.
