How’s it going Humans?

Sometimes people ask me things like “Hey Rocky, what are you going to do when you retire?

Okay, not really. No one has ever asked me that question.  Know why? Because dogs don’t retire. But I bet that YOU have been asked that question, even if only by yourself.

You’ve certainly been trained to asked yourself that question by advertisers, insurance companies, bankers, investment firms…you name it.  Sometimes I think that retirement might be all that they want you to think about!  Or worry about is more like it…stress out about until your hair starts falling out and you’re biting your toenails off in your sleep.

I say, what’s all of the fuss about? Do you see me running around looking like a cat wiht mange, worrying my life away? Nope. Know why?  Because I love my job. Yes…i DO have a job.

I am self-actualized. My job is to be man’s best friend. Its what I was born to do and heck yes I’m passionate about it. I love my job, so for me retirement isn’t an issue . Why would I suddenly need to stop doing something that I’m supposed to do? And if you had the chance to do it, to make a living and a life doing what YOU were meant to do and what you love to do, would you be wasting all of your time worrying about retirement?

Would you be wishing a third of your life away just so you could stop and sit on your butt at the end?

That would be crazy, wouldn’t it?
