Copywriting Secrets-How to Invoke the Million Dollar Emotions

If there’s one thing that will cause your sales copy to rake in piles of cash for your company it’s an appeal to your customers’ emotions. Just read what the masters like Bob Bly, Joe Vitale and Dan Kennedy are saying and you’ll see that they swear by the art of appealing to the emotions.

But which emotions compel people to whip out their wallets in a buying frenzy? This is a great question, and right now you’re just moments away from learning the answer that’ll transform your sales writing into pure magic…

It all begins with understanding the most profound emotional needs:

  • Validation=to feel valued, significant and important
  • Excitement=to feel happy, vibrant and fulfilled
  • Security=to feel safe and comfortable

Just imagine what lengths people will go to for personal validation. When someone is starved for it, they’ll even resort to violence to get it back. Some people will risk their lives to feel a sense of thrill and excitement and most people value convenience and comfort enough to risk their physical health.

Even the need for love and companionship is based on the need to be valued, to be excited and to feel safe in the presence of another person. These are things which people treasure more than money, more than their time and they are things which people will often risk their lives to have.

Learn to awaken these emotional needs with your sales writing and the price tag will become a no brainer. Use words and imagery which connect the benefits of your product to the prospects needs for validation, excitement and security. Find out which emotional need your product addresses build the dream around that emotional state.

At the same time, use words and phrases which invoke the emotional states which are the opposite of validation, excitement and security: rejection, monotony and uncertainty. Create a vivid image of the problem that your product will solve and make negative emotional state associated with that problem real to the reader. Enough of this vacillation between hot and cold will invoke such a desperation and hunger within your prospects mind that they’ll rush to purchase the solution from you.
