What Constitutes a Healthy VQ?

10 January 2010

Question: “I read about the four different standards that constitute a faulty VQ on your web site but didn’t come across an example of a standard being compelled by value(not cost)…. or is a standard compelled by value created by the application of Clarity, Elimination, Contribution and Perseverance?”

Response: (By: Seth Czerepak)

Thanks for the question.

The four laws of VDT use the principles of alignment and motion to cultivate a healthy VQ. The laws of alignment are Clarity and Elimination and the laws of motions are Contribution and Perseverance. However, the objective is not to help people reach their goals. Most people already know what to do and have all the resources that it takes to get what they want. The problem is that they are not using what they already have. This is because it’s not about the techniques (NLP, goal setting affirmations, EFT, meditation, creative visualization, accountability, cognitive dissonance, 7 Habits, Napoleon Hill’s 13 principles, etc.) it’s about the person who is applying them.

A good analogy is musicians and instruments. Take a great pianist and put them behind a $200 piano and they’ll sound great, take a mediocre pianist and put them at a $100,000.00 piano and they’ll sound mediocre. Most people apply the techniques of conventional personal development, they work for a while (if they work at all) and then they wear off.

Then they go in search of the next thing, hoping that they’ll find the holy grail of personal development. However, it’s not about the new strategy, it’s about the person applying it. VDT empowers a person instead to become who they were born to be by properly aligning their personal sense of value with who they really are. This is accomplished by application of the 4 laws of VDT.

Once this becomes the focus, people are finding that there is less need for things like affirmations, visualization techniques, NLP and superficial technique. Instead, they pursue and achieve what they want just as naturally as they perform the routines of their everyday life. In a Zen sort of way, they become their own standard for measuring value. They become one with their desires and the pursuit of excellence becomes their life. This eliminates the need for accountability, goals programs, affirmations, routines, etc.
